Temperley London Summer 2018

The Temperley London Summer 2018 collection will have you feeling as if you’ve been transported to the Riviera in a flurry of femininity and romanticism. It offers a contemporary interpretation of the world of photographer Slim Aarons, his muses, and the sense of inherent ease he captured.

This season was showcased at London Fashion Week in front of a host of celebrities including Musician Pixie Lott, Actress Olga Kurylenko, models Laura Bailey, Jacquetta Wheeler, Cosima Auermann, Caroline Winberg and Giovanna Battaglia, Amber Le Bon, F1 Driver Carmen Jorda, Influencers Doina Ciobanu, Xenia Tchoumi, Ola Farahat, Betty Bachz and Niomi Smart.

The collective range of exquisitely beautiful looks encapsulates the vibe of the Riviera, evoking luxurious glamour and beauty. Easy palazzo pants, ankle skimming cardigans and stretch cotton jumpsuits come in playful striped fabrics and knits echoing candy coloured parasols found on the Cote D’Azur. Hand painted spiraling cacti spines inspired by the lush gardens of the Mediterranean adorn textured seersucker sundresses. This horticultural theme also flows into the stunning embroidery; aerial views of symmetrical French topiary gardens combined with sheer polka dot chiffon and tulle ruffles.

Romantic shapes, floating fabrics and relaxed rolled sleeves were paired with statement belts, cinching in waists to create an overtly feminine silhouette reminiscent of 1950’s sirens. Other looks included elegant wide legged culottes, buttoned bodice jumpsuits and cotton tailored jackets which were teamed with calf grazing dresses and skirts adorned with delicate sheer frills.

The colour palette made up of fresh azure blues, lilacs, shades of olive and laurel greens, rose and powder pinks and accents of candy cane red, poppy and peach enticed the senses, beautifully complimenting the variety of fun prints and patterns.

Decadent eveningwear completed the collection with plenty of iridescent sparkles and jaw-dropping designs which included luxurious metallic Italian fil-coupe, sheer gathered tulle, crystal embellishments, plunging necklines and voluminous skirts.

Spanish luxury footwear brand Pedro Garcia united with Alice Temperley’s eponymous label for the British designer’s Spring/Summer 2018 London show too. The duo presented a collection of sandals exquisitely crafted from buttery soft nappa leather and delicate grosgrain ribbons in a brilliantly expressive color palette, capturing Temperley London’s eternally effortless, modern bohemian cool.

Temperley commented,

“I am very familiar with Pedro Garcia and it has been on my radar for a while now. When I discovered more about the heritage of the brand, how it is a family run business, and how they use artisan techniques combined with cutting edge innovation, I was keen to explore a footwear collaboration. When I think of Pedro Garcia I think of contemporary, effortless shoes. With their unique experimentation with materials, proportion and color, Summer 18 seemed like the perfect season to collaborate with Pedro and the team. It was a seamless creative partnership and very enjoyable process.”
