Founded in 2011 by designers Duncan Shaw and Billy Yick, MASC is a label which fuses Japanese simplicity and mask-like mystery into draped and structured women’s wear silhouettes that bring elegance to the world of fashion.
The couple share a rather impressive list of achievements including an appearance in the final gala show at London Graduate Fashion Week and successfully stocking their debut collection in a dedicated pop-up-shop in Selfridges, London. Duncan was also personally selected to study in Paris at the Institut Francais De La Mode, as the only British graduate on the exclusive Masters Fashion Design programme, culminating in a Distinction awarded by Pierre Berg, co-founder of Yves Saint Laurent.
MASC has launched with a stunning debut collection of dresses and separates that showcase chic minimalism. Effortless and silently powerful, each piece is hand made in England and belongs to an exclusive limited edition programme.
Specialising in highly finished ready-to-wear and accessories, the label uses extraordinary cutting techniques, luxurious fabrics and expressive drape. The simple yet elegant designs featured in the collection provide versatility whilst the contemporary styles and shapes showcase the designer’s creativity and talent.
Layering, unorthodox silhouettes and simple geometry is what makes MASC stand out from the fashion crowd as their unique form-focused womenswear pieces is what fashionistas dream of having in their wardrobes.
MASC’s first collection is available at Young British Designers which is a website that aims to bring the very best of emerging British based fashion talent to a global stage giving them a helping hand in their careers whilst providing customers with something new and unique.
